Welcome to The Yu Lab! Our research is dedicated to unraveling the complex interplay between genetic and environmental factors that drive brain aging, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and AD-related dementias. We focus on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions, particularly emphasizing how neuroinflammation shapes microglial plasticity, vascular senescence, and neuroimmune responses. By investigating these processes, we aim to understand better how chronic inflammation and vascular dysfunction contribute to cognitive decline and the progression of dementia.
